Re: Keyless Remote Costs

You asked if $200 was too much for a spare remote and whether $40 was too
much for something you called 'diagnostics' for the remote for your 94
convertible (C900). A few years ago, I went to my friendly SAAB dealer for
a spare remote for my 96 900S(NG900). I was initially quoted about $150
for the darn thing, but after they picked me up off the floor and heard my
moaning, the price dropped to $77.40, which I accepted but realized it was
still probably twice as much as a fair price. A mechanic had to hook up
the computed (OBDII) to match the remote to my car, which might be what the
diagnostic charge was about. Bottom line: I think your quote is way too
high and so is the diagnostic charge. Complain nicely and see what
happens.
Good luck.
