I don't know of one, but if you find out, let me know. I posted the
same question here 2 years and got only a few suggestions (in Trumbull
and Orange, so I never went). You can search The Saab Net at
http://www.escribe.com/automotive/european/tsn/
Put in Mechanics CT and

see what you get.

As for the dealers, not only are they expensive, but often they're not
that good.

I tried Darien BMW/Saab, but they went from a dealership to a service
point to BMW only. They also tried to fix my radio (under warranty) by
sending it back to Clarion 2 or 3 times before agreeing to check the
speaker (the real problem). The last couple of times I went there, they
also had a really irritating service writer. I tried Greenwich Saab,
but they wanted to turn the rotors 'as a matter of course' when all I
needed was new pads. I've tried Westport Saab (the parent of Greenwich
Saab) and so far they're just expensive. Price aside, I've only heard
good things about Westport Saab.

All of these dealers seem to have perfected the art of finding
additional items that 'ought to be fixed now, before it's too late.'
Some of them are better than others with respect to when they tell you
about these -- I'd rather get the message that 'you really ought to
think about having this done next time' when I pick up the car instead
of a phone call saying, 'we've got it apart and can do it now for $X,
but if you put it off, it'll cost you $2X'.

I get postcards from a few local shops claiming to specialize in Saabs
(e.g., Cranbury Auto Service, Norwalk), but I haven't tried any of them
and don't know anyone who has (in June 98, no one at tsn had any
comments about Cranbury).

BTW, which was the dealer that gave you a 'great' 35K service for only
$675? Look carefully at your receipt. I suspect you will find several
of the more expensive items that are not included in the items listed in
the Saab owner's manual as necesary for a 35K service. Car dealers (not
limited to Saab dealers) make up their own list of 'recommended
services' which they will do if all you ask for is the XX-mile service.
If you only want the service to include those items recommended by the
manufacturer, you have to explicitly say so.
