Funny Numbers

I've checked the TSN VIN Page, but can't make sense of the following two
numbers :

YS3 A D 4 6 S 1 N 2 009254
YS3 A D 4 6 S 1 N 2 004457

The cars are at a wreckers and I'm looking at buying them for parts.

Physically both are Turbo's, without Intercoolers and without boost gauges
on the dashboards. They are 4 door autos, so some parts of the numbers make
sense.

>From the SAABNET pages, N = 1992.

Checking with other year ranges, the D works out to Turbo in 1986, and S =
Turbo in 1984-85.

Do numbers like these make sense ? Is it common to have combinations of
different years in the numbers ? And did SAAB ever make C900 Turbo's without
boost gauges above the fuel gauge/temp gauge ? Also, the crossover pipe,
from the turbo to the throttle butterfly does not look like usual, instead
it looks like normal exhaust piping, and is slightly kinky towards the
throttle body. Is something fishy or am I being paranoid ?

Please respond urgently.

Thank you in advance,
LG
