Notchy Transmissions & Rough Idle & Interior Air Temp Sensors

Four items today.

1. I posted (and read) many messages about problems with 'notchy' clutches
in the NG 900 (prior the the '98). The general consensus was that the
clutch cable was getting fouled. A brief story -- my clutch cable actually
broke (bad). This came after the clutch became very difficult to shift --
I probably should not have been driving but sometime you don't have a
choice. In any case, International Motors fixed the problem the next day
(thank you!) by replacing the cable. Since then the clutch 'notchiness'
has still been there but nowhere as bad as before. What might be
interesting to Saab list members is the car has just gone off warranty, and
I called Saab to complain -- the next day they sent a $150 certificate
(which roughly covered the cost of the repairs).

2. At the same time, I got the main serpentine belt replaced. Since then,
the car has a very rough idle. At times, the entire car is shaking..and
giving it some gas in neutral doesn't seem to do much. Any ideas or
similar complaints?

3. I also noticed a small, persistent battery drain. I have had problem
in the past with my battery, so I paid special attention, and noticed the
interior air temp. sensor (right above the ashtray in the front dash) was
constantly on, even while the car was turned off. Any similar complaints
and solutions? I could replace the sensor.

One final point. I saw some people asking how to replace the ventilation
filter on a NG 900. I did this recently..very easy. I can email
instructions, or if there is enough interest I'll post it to the list.
