I am intimately familiar with this repair as I performed it on my own '86
9000T about 7 years ago. I had an article from Jack Ashcraft's Saab Journal
(no longer published) to guide me. The motor you seek is behind the false
bulkhead under the windshield wipers and cowl in front of the windshield. It
is an easy repair, but getting to the motor is the hard part. I could find
the article and send you a photocopy if you can't find instructions
elsewhere. This is expensive to have someone else do it because the mechanic
will have to take the car apart. On the other hand, if you do it, you will
need a roof over the car (the first step in the repair is to remove the
hood). It took me two weeks working on it very part time. (I think the motors
you see behind the glove box control the doors in the duct system for the
heat/ac/vent system). But, they aren't the one you need. The good news is
that the system has worked flawlessly since the repair.
