Re: Electronic Fan Control

I have been using one of Bob's electronic fan temp controllers for about 4
months (basically, all summer). It is installed on a '92 9000T. I had
replaced the original temperature switch previously with the lower temp
Wahler unit, and while this improved matters somewhat, it is not the best
solution. The control unit is unique because it responds to actual ENGINE
temperature, not coolant temperature at the exit of the radiator, where the
factory switch is located. Installation is straightforward--there are only
5 wires to connect, and they are color-coded to match the factory harness.
It should take a novice about 1 hour. The reliability has been excellent,
and since the original switch is left in the circuit, it is always there
for backup if the electronic control should fail. The control action is
superb--keeps the temp gauge just a hair above midline (or wherever you
choose to set the adjustable trip-point). If this sounds like an
endorsement, it is!

Regards,
Tom Cadwallader
