Ignition Module Compatibility

Hi, I'm hoping someone can helps me with my '85 SPG.

It started to stall one recent morning and then would not restart.  I
looked at a number of things, then swapped the ignition module for an
extra one I had from an '87 9000T.  With this module it ran, but not very
well.

I asked my mechanic for a Bosch 0 277 100 118 module like the original,
and he sent me a 0 227 100 139-- the same as the one from the 9000.  So
the question is, are these interchangable or do i need the 118?

It runs about the same with either of the 139's.  One thing I notice is
that in the 9000 the 139 is used with an ignition pulse amplifier.  I
don't beleive the 900 uses one.  Could this be the problem?  Does the
newer module not put out a strong enough signal?
