Alternator Removal & Wet Footwell

I want to remove the alternator from my '84 900 Turbo. The Bentley manual
makes it look like a breeze. In reality, there's all kinds of stuff in
the way. I have an AC hose, two heater hoses, throttle cable, and large
hose from reservoir to water pump that all appear to be in the way. Any
one out there willing to give me any tips to help streamline the process?
I'm really hoping it looks alot more complicated than it's going to be.
Also, when I run my AC in humid weather, the rear footwell on the
passenger side gets soaking wet! The front one as well, but not as bad as
the rear. The drain tube that runs out into the front passenger side
wheelwell is connected and open, so that's not the problem. It's
happening somewhere between the evaporator (I think, I don't know much at
all about AC systems)and the passenger compartment. I will be grateful
for any guidance. I love my Saab. It has 243,700 miles on it, and it is
still going strong-no major engine work, and no tranny work yet! Don
Walter. Tucson, AZ
