Your V6 900 has an electronic throttle system, which enables the Traction 
Control feature.

The system consists basically of a motorized throttle plate and a brain-box 
under the seat.

I have experienced many electronic throttle problems in 9000 cars, and see 
no reason why the similar system in your car could not be responsible for 
your driveability problems.

I don't know the specific details of the 900 V6 TCS system, but unlike the 
9000 system, it appears to work with it's own electrically-actuated throttle 
plate that's independent of the pedal/cable actuated throttle plate.  So, 
there may be a way to disable/disconnect it completely.  If doing this 
restores predictable starting and accelerator response, then you've found 
your problem.
