Re: Shift Up Light

First, the Shift Up light can be discinnected on the 9000 simply by
removing the kick panel on the driver's side and then removing the green
jumper that is plugged into a two pin connector.

Second, the Shift Up light IS NOT REQUIRED by any US Government regulation
or law. Saab has responded to my query in that regard.

Third the computer in the 9-5 determines the gear in use by calculation
involving road and engine speed. Unplugging the bulb or modifying the
program code appear to be the only way to kill this infernal gadget (9-5).
I am pursuing a course of addressing this problem with a Tech II; a
friend/Saab technician insists that it can be done this way.

Stay Tuned......
