Theres a trick to replacing any emblems on classic 900
s or 9000s, one I learned from a dealer in the
mid-eighties, and it works like a charm.
Simply pull out your standard-issue hair dryer and warm
up the emblem. A couple minutes of gentle heating, and
the adhesive softens enough to pull the emblem off by
hand quite easily. The old turbo and 900 letters
came off my 85 900T the first week I had it, leaving the
new-for-85 badges and a simple SAAB on the tail. (you
can also use this method to *gasp* relocate any emblems)
12 years later the circular griffen badges had lost all
their color and after purchasing replacements for a few
bucks, the hair dryer had the old badges off and the new
ones sparkling in their place.

The badging of the 9-5 in my garage isnt quite so
over-the-top as the 85, so I dont know if it works on
them, probably. At least SAAB never chose to rivet them
on ala GM in the 70s.

Hope this helps.
