ACC and Fan Speed

Over the past week I noticed in my '93 9000CSE the ACC is no longer
varying the fan speed no matter what temp ACC is set at. This happens in
both AUTO and ECON. The fan appears to be blowing at full speed (gale).
When I manually override fan speed by stepping down, no reduction occurs
with each push of 'down' button, then after several pushes fan just
reaches full stop.

Setting different temperatures still makes ACC change vents from panel to
defog (and automatic fresh/recycle toggling) with no problems. The
in-cabin sensor also appears to work fine.

Is this an ACC computer fault or a fault related to the fan speed relay
and motor ?

TIA,
Kenneth
