When you say 'it worked fine any number of times in the past', do you mean
hooking up a trailer to this 97 900? If so, and if it has the factory wiring
kit, the 'diodebox' in the wiring kit might have gone bad. This box allows
using the usual American trailer having one bulb filimant for brake & turn
signal with the Europeon system that has separate bulbs for brake and turn
lights.

Somewhere in the Saab manual/ and/or lighting kit instructions, they mention
of the danger og just splicing into the cars wiring to hook up trailer
lights. Seems to do might burn up their 'high tech' wiring system.
