Tailpipe Residue

Hi,

I've had my 97 CSE for about 6 weeks now. I use it as a daily driver for
commuting. It gets fully warmed up every day, going about 15 miles each way,
mostly highway. The car has 31K.

I put a new rear muffler and tailpipe on the car when I got it because the
old one seemed rusty and I didn't want to have to deal with anything in the
winter. I am noticing some rich black soot on my fingertip when I check the
condition of the exhaust residue. Normally, I would associate this with
running rich.

The car passed inspection and did very well. It has not used any oil. The
mileage is about 24.8-25. I do drive fairly easy, mostly keeping the tach in
the green area and using the turbo when I want to pass or merge. The RPMs
rarely get above 3000, much less 4000.

Should I change my ways and wind her up more? Does the car need the plugs
adjusted? I have them at 1mm. Is this just normal for this car? What gives?

Thanks,

Charlie
