He does have a point, though. The off-the-showroom-floor 9-3s and 9-5s
seem to be aimed for creature comforts rather than break-neck speeds and F1
cornering. As for the electric gizmos, if SAAB did away from them, people
would complain - put in more than before, we have Doug.

The new SAABs, if I'm not mistaken, is aimed at a different group, and the
sales records show this. The sales are increasing, and the group of people
who are buying up NG GM-SAABs are a different breed (unless s/he owns a
Viggen or an Aero). To make the claim that SAAB is imitating Volvo is a
little premature, however, there may be a link between the two marques due
to the country of origin.

Volvo DOES handle admirably, given the right tools. The engine, coaxed in
the right way, takes wins in the BTCC cicuits - leaving BMW, Hondas,
Vauxhalls and the like behind. Funny, in the motorsports circuits, SAAB
and Volvo are rarely seen together. But they are both good cars.

Now, as for the sports suspension, the big makers of shocks and springs can
accomodate the race-minded, just fine. SAAB just opted not to. On the
other hand, I don't see VW and Audi (Doug must be a German car lover)
R&D-ing with the Humane Society. LOL. It's a different crowd, Doug.

Watch out. You might strike a nerve with some one who likes their 9-3 or
9-5.
