Cracked Manifold Exhaust Pipe

My 87 900S has developed a crack in the mainfold pipe (pipe from =
manifold to converter). Seeing that the car is getting up in age, I was =
hoping to remove the pipe and have it welded before I just replace it =
with a new one. Has anyone had any experience with this? I know the =
pipe won't last forever, but I thinking I might get it to last a while =
longer until I upgrade to a newer Saab. Thanks in advance.
