Second the positive comments on the Dunlop Sport A2. I've been impress with
the A2 for the past 2000 miles. I live in the San Francisco area and would
prefer summer tires, but occasionally needs the snow traction for Lake
Tahoe. My previous experiences with Dunlop D60 were they are good
performers in the dry, are a good value and lasted about 40k miles. The A2
are advertised to be a better D60.
The A2 replace a set of Firestone SH30 that replaced Dunlop D60. My current
setup is new A2 on the front and 8/10th SH30 on the back. So my comments
relate best as comparison to the SH30 on all four. The A2 has good dry
grip, rollover less in corner and doesn't have the low rumble that the SH30
makes. The wore front SH30 hydroplane easily on freeway standing water, as
could be expected from any wore tires. The A2's wet traction and hydroplane
resistance have been excellent, comparable to new SH30s. Ride comfort and
noise are same as SH30. I consider ride comfort a lower priority then dry
handling, and pump my front tires to 35psi. Freeway noise is low, or maybe
being mask by wind noise.
