Re: Blown Head Gasket

I guess I've been really lucky! The last time I had a head gasket fail on a
Saab was my 1974 99 which went through two of them in the200K miles I owned
it. Since then, a 1980 900 went 260K miles before rusting out with no head
work, a 1985 900Turbo went 185K miles with no head work before it was
totalled, and my current 1990 900SPG with higher modified boost currently
has 175K miles on it, again with no head work having been done. All of the
cars have been driven 'with spirit' and both turbos have seen plenty of
boost time. Now, I do change coolant every year or two and managed not to
overheat any of them except the 74. Anyway, I think I just may keep this
SPG for many more years if the later cars are prone to this kind of thing!

Hope your new gasket holds out for another 200K miles at least! :-)

Carl Carlson
