8V Turbo to 16V Turbo

Howdy everyone...I have another appeal to make:
Last weekend, the installation of a new turbo on my '83 900 went horribly
wrong. During the test drive, the APC needle wasn't moving, then the APC
valve began doing some wild rattling..then it was over...#4 cylinder let go
yielding 0 compression. I'm not sure how or what happened yet but have a
fear that I'm going to need to change the motor.
I have a good used 16 valve motor which would be my most economical
option to get the car back on the road. Can anyone tell me anything about
making the upgrade from my 8 valve motor? A friend told me there was
someone out there named Dennis Sweeney (sp?) you had made such a a
swap and published the details.
TIA
Jim
