My 1996 900 SE Turbo started having this intermittent noise coming from the
right front of the car. I usually can hear it when stopped at idle and it
seems to go away when I accelerate. While stopped it sometimes comes and
goes. Mostly I hear it a lot and it doesn't go away.

The sound is a ticking noise that sounds like lifter noise, but my mechanic
told me that the lifters on the '96 900 turbo's are hydraulic and they
don't make that sound. He poked around and said that he couldn't figure
out where it was coming from but it was somewhere underneath the car near
the right front wheel.

I searched through the archives, but didn't find anything like this. Has
anyone else had this problem.
