Cruise Control

I would appreciate some help in reconstructing the cruise control system in
an 84 900T. When it was being rebuilt some of the components were in poor
shape & were just not put back. Since then I have acquired some new parts,
brake switch & vacuum operated parts from another car but need a picture or
diagram to show how it all fits together.

In relation to replacing the master cylinder on an 84, there is a seal kit
available for $35 or so with instructions. Care has to be taken when
reintroducing the pistons into the cylinder as the seal can tear against the
edge of the cylinder as it goes in. If you go with a $200+ complete master
cylinder it is a 10 minute replacement job, easily done by a relative novice.
Just dont forget to open the little tube under the reservoir that takes the
fluid to the clutch as it comes closed off.
Bleeding the system shouldn't be necessary. The cylinder itself can be bled
by pushing the pedal slowly when the brake pipes are only loosely screwed
into their holes and a cloth held under them to catch the fluid. Tighten the
fittings before the pedal is released. Keep the lid off the old reservoir and
drill a hole through a metal disc that fits inside the rim of the lid so that
it will take a tire valve. This can then be used to pressure bleed the
clutch when needed by using a tire pump or very low pressure from an air
compressor.
