Corinne: I like to check the customer survey results on the Tire Rack Web
site for decent snow handling numbers, plus hydroplaning, wear, noise, and
several other categories. These numbers reportedly come from real-customer
experience with a given tire. My '85 base 900, which has your same tire
size, awaits new tires because the P4000 Super Tourings I bought a few
years ago are about shot after only 15,000 miles, even though this is on my
toddle-around-town, no heavy driving, 110-horse non-turbo. I'll probably
stay with Pirelli, maybe P400 Tourings (pretty good survey numbers), only
because of the pretty hefty pro-rated discount I'll get for the Super
Tourings being shot. Hmm, reminds me of all those DieHard batteries that
'died hard' over the years and gave me great deals on new ones!
