Timing Chain B vs H

Once again I call upon the collective wisdom of Saabnet users!

I went to the dealership and ordered parts (for my 83 900 T) to replacing
the timing chain. I'm sure I have the H type engine (distributor
side-mounted on the camshaft). But they gave me what looks like the old
style tensioner that fits beneath the idler sprocket (which according to
the photos in Haynes, the idler, and tensioner immediately beneath it, only
exist in the B-type engine). My question is: is the this correct? i.e.
does this tensioner that easily fits in the palm of your hand somehow
replace the tensioning mechanism on the tensioner's long-arm assembly? Or
does the tensioner assembly on the H-type engine come complete - spring,
armature etc.

In addition to the above part, I have two long pieces. One is the guide (on
the right as you look at the back of the engine) and the other is the
tension arm without any spring assembly (except for the afore-mentioned
separate tensioner assembly). I haven't tried anything yet, but I don't
want to get in the middle of doing this in-situ replacement only to find
that I don't have the correct parts. For those of you with the Haynes
manual, I am alluding to p.p. 37 & 40.

I did do a search in the archives, and found some helpful hints, but
nothing alluding to my (supposed) confusion. Note: I only have the Haynes
manual, whose photographs and descriptions I have found, are of limited
value.

Any help would be gratefully accepted!

Thanks,

Peter
