Clutch Bleeding Procedure

I have a 1987 9000 Turbo. Recently, the rubber hose to the slave cylinder
came apart. I have made temporary repairs by shortening the hose and
reattaching it to the line. However, I cannot get the system to bleed
properly. I have tried forcing fluid both ways - up and down the lines, but
to no avail. I tried the conventional bleeding procedure (pump the pedal
three times and hold it down while opening and closing the bleeder valve),
again with no results. The pedal moves properly but there is no pressure. I
have read copies of the recommended Saab procedure of attaching a radiator
pressure tester to the master cylinder and pumping the fluid through, but am
unable to find a tester with a proper fit (seal). I am using a Stant brand
tester kit. Any suggestions?
