So basically, they'll charge you nearly $2000 to cover what, exactly?

You've had the car for about four years, and only 27,000 miles,
that's 6,750 per year. If you continue to drive it at that rate, at
the end of 7 more years, you'll have 74,000 miles, which is about
when things *start* to go wrong.

The really major things (motor, transmission, etc) are very reliable on
Saabs.

I presume that you garage the car, and keep it out of the snow?

If you are caring for the car well, and don't plan on driving it more
than you are, I would save the cash (maybe open a 'car trust fund'),
get the one major service the car will need in about 4 more years,
and not worry about it.
