Despite my lavish attention to my daughter's '92 900S, she has decided to
keep it with her next school year in Richmond, VA. Does anyone have a
recommendation for a dealer or independent in this area? On another note, my
'95 900SET experiences an occasional vibration in the steering wheel only
when accelerating. I thought at first that it was a bad tire or possibly an
engine mount. But that is not the case. My guess at this point is a worn
driver (or both) for the front axle(s). I don't think the vibration is CV
joint-related since there is no clicking when turning or accelerating. The
inner drivers are separate parts that are not inexpensive (>$200 each from
online sources) and will require the extra messy step of removing the inner
CV joint and boot and installing the original axle to the new driver. I
remember reading than on older Saabs, the drivers could be switched from one
side of the car to the other to change the direction of rotation and load the
unworn surface of the driver. Has anyone tried this?
