The recall affected the Engine management computer. Poor GM quality lead
obviously to corrosion/ oxidization and caused engine failure.

I had the car in the garage, had the recall done, but 2 Weeks later the car
would not start and had to be towed to the garage.

THE DIRECT IGNITION BOX HAD TO BE REPLACED.  THIS IS WORST CASE FOR A
MODERN CAR. SAAB covered the expense !!  ;-)  This tells you that there is
a problem with the DI Box

But after all that my gas consumption has increased by 5 %. I barely get
more than 26 mpg (German Autobahn driving included though) Otherwise car is
fine, just a bit too slow for Autobahns, makes me think of a performance
upgrade by Swiss Company HIRSCH.
