I think if price is an issue, you might consider either BFG Touring T/A
*HR4* - a little better on dry pavement, or General XP2000 HR, a little
better on snow and ice. Or, for the price of MXV4's, you could get Nokian
NRW's, an HR *winter* tire suitable for all year use. If you happen to
belong to one of the warehouse clubs, like Sam's Club, BJ's, or Costco,
both the BFG and General tend to be available there.
