sure you hit the abs the first time, but what about the 5th time, and what
about from 120MPH? this is where grooved disks help, in keeping a layer of
gas from forming between the pad and rotor when the pads get REALLY hot. the
gas comes from the pad materials (glue?). for 99% of us, they are eye candy,
meant to look cool. just don't paint your calipers red....
