At that mileage, with the radiator off and the cooling system empty, it 
makes sense.

Hoses typically fail between 100,000 and 200,000 miles.

My preference is for Goodyear 'Gatorback', with the diagonal lateral 
grooves to prevent cracking.

Idler pulleys should be replaced every time you replace the belt.  They 
seem to be underdesigned.
