Re: Trailer hitch Wiring

I have a '90 900 on which I had the SAAB trailer hitch installed along with
the round (European?) wiring plug. I also had the round to flat connector
made so that I could use it on most U.S. trailer hitches. What I found was
that the break lights didn't work but turn signals and lights did. Upon
examining the wiring, I found that in the original wiring to the round plug,
the breaks and turnsignals were combined. I found a 'splitter' at the local
auto store, followed the simple schematics and had the wiring working in
about 90 minutes (I'm slow). This was a few years ago, and memory often
fails in the details, but check into the combined versus separated break /
turn signal issue.
