This is a DCC (Driver Co-Driver) trip computer for '86-'89 cars. It expects
to see a signal from the stand-alone outside air temp sensor, which hangs
behind a metal bracket in the plastic panel below the front bumper. It
connects to the car with two 8-pole connectors. Two problems:

1. Your car only has one connector, so some rewiring would be in order to
get any proper function out of this DCC unit.

2. Your car has an incompatible outside temp sensor (different from the
earlier one internally, even though it looks the same externally). Since you
already have the outside temp function in your EDU display, it might not
matter that the DCC outside temp function doesn't work.

There are precious few of these early DCC units here in the USA. Being the
9000 nut that I am, I would love to get my hands on one. If you would be
willing to put me in contact with a source in the UK, I would be thrilled !

> SCC Trip Computer (Part number 29060)

SAAB Car Computer. A dumbed-down version of the DCC. The LCD graphics are
downright uninteresting. It lacks the ability to control an auxillary
heater, is not able to show outside temperature, lacks a stopwatch feature,
and replaces the 'time elapsed from starting' function with a 'destination
arrival time' calculation. There are two forms of this SCC:

One plugs in with two 8-pole connectors (part number 4110607 or 4437224).
4437224 (model-year 1994 unit) has the uncanny tendency to develop a jumbled
up LCD display, more so than the earlier 4110607 unit.

The other requires only one 8-pole connector (part number 4519443, or
400105607).

Your car needs the latter (single-plug unit) for plug-and-play compatibility.
The two-plug units would require some rather simple rewiring. The part
number 29060 doesn't tell me which one you've got.
