Just thought I would see what some of you think about my situation I =
picked my 2000 93 up on Monday from a dealership in CT. While they had =
the car they replaced the AC compressor, the ignition switch and wiper =
motor, in addition to doing a routine 5000 mile service. However, after =
driving roughly seven miles from the dealership the motor burnt up. Thus =
far the dealer and Saab are taking responsibility, and have stated to me =
that they will replace the motor in its entirety. The service manager at =
the dealer has told me that the reason the motor expired was that the =
belt the factory put on the car was an inch to short. I am not a =
mechanic but I find it hard to believe that since the vehicle is a year =
old and has over 17000 miles on it at this point, that the belt would =
all of a sudden cause the motor to completely burn up. I would =
appreciate any comments, about this situation, and any ideas about =
whether or not I have any recourse at this point, and whether or not =
this situation could have damaged any other parts of the car.=20
