Your observation of 'self healing burnt-out bulbs' sounds like a fun
problem to work on, but I don't know the specifics well enough to really
feel comfortable about making any illuminating (no pun intended)
suggestions. Nevertheless, I would like to guess that perhaps the problem
might involve the sinister 'poor connections syndrome.' Try lightly
abrading and cleaning (with a safe volatile solvent or WD40) the contactsof
the lamps involved, and see what happens. If this doesn't do much for you,
let me know what your testing method involved. I have observed burnt-out
bulbs testing good on an ohmmeter, but I don't know if this has anything to
do with your problem.
Hope this helps,
