That sounds very familiar! I once had a somewhat similar problem, but not
with a Saab. The laser aligner said my alignment was perfect, but the
driving feel was unbearable. I took it to an old-fashioned shop with
mechanical instruments and they laughed. I don't remember the exact
explanation now, but it had something to do with the laser being able to
'see' that certain reference marks were in the correct locations, but not
having any ability to check the configuration of the parts between there
and the body. With mechanical gauges (and skill and years of experience)
the non-laser shop solved my problem in less than an hour.
