Here are some tips on removing and replacing exterior mirror glass.
If yours is already off just jump ahead to where it speaks of glueing
the mirror back in place. Hope this helps.
There is a hole in the bottom of the mirror housing.Look up thur the
hole and you will see a ring with 4 slots on the edge. The ring locks the
mirror/mount to the ring mount that moves to adjust the mirror.Between
the mirror glass and the mount is the rubber pad heater and thermostat
on driver side..Slow demisting means the rubber heating pad is not
touching the rear of the glass, the bond has failed between the pad and
glass. You will need to rebond glass to pad. On the lock ring is 3 lands
between the slots one of which has a pointer on the land next to the
last slot.Rotate the pointer towards the car on the left side(away on
the right side)using the slots.Turn the ring counter clockwise to unlock
clockwise to lock it back on. The pad heater has two small spade
connectors that will have to be disconnected.Gently pry/pull the glass
from the rubber pad heater to remove.Clean the front surface of the
heating pad and the rear of the glass.Reattach the mirror glass to
rubber pad with red silicone rubber spread thin on rubber pad and press
glass mirror down on it for a good bond while appling preasure. Leave
flat overnight for a good bond to develop, then place it in housing and
lock it back on. Good luck!
