Child Seats

Have a '99 95 Wagon and was installing a child seat (infant carrier) in the
rear. I flipped the red tab over to child seat and installed it. As I
tightened the shoulder part of the belt - and pulled it tight, the black
piece that has the red tab - CLICKED - but it didn't seem right. Upon
inspection, I saw that it was actually broken. Yes it snapped. My local
dealer installed new belt. I then had a fire station install the seat and
before I could stop him...he did the same. Has anyone else experienced
this??? Saab USA had no indication of such and told me to raise it to the
dealer when I get it fixed again. Did I or the fireman do something odd -
don't think so - as we both did it independently. The manual states in
some language to pull up but makes no indication what up is per se...no
diagram etc. If so, it seems odd that it could snap so easily.
