So I've recently been reminded of how much I love the cost of Saab
parts. I've had my new '01 9-3SE for almost a month now and somehow
have already managed to break the plastic cover things on the front
left, front right, and rear left lights.

I do live in the city and park on the street, but sheesh, I'd expect
them to be a little stronger than that. Are these parts been known to
shatter frequently? It's not like I've been in an accident or
anything.

Also when I took it in for the 30-day checkup, my friendly Saab
mechanic informed me that new ones are about $120 a pop, plus some
labor or nearly $500 for all three! I think I'll just leave 'em
broken if they're just going to break again in few days anyhow.

Does anyone know if these things are standard sizes and can be bought
not through Saab? I'd think that'd make them much cheaper. Thanks.
