The EDU/Trip Computer display will on later model cars will always
switch to the temp reading when it is near or below freezing ( your
owner's manual will have the exact temp) as a warning of the possibility
of slick driving surfaces. Since Saabs are such great long trip
vehicles, and have a pretty good range on a tank of fuel, it is a good
feature. I could easily leave my town here and it be in the 50s and
drive to the mountains and it be in the 20s on a tank of gas. If I were
enjoying my drive I might not realize I had passed into that big of a
temperature change. A press of the INFO button will put the EDU right
where you want it, although you will still get a little reminder to let
you know the car has info it wants you to know.

As for the radio volume, something is wrong. Probably dirty contacts in
the volume control.
