Last year I had a cradle for my Nokia 5160 installed in my '99 9-5 sedan.
The integration with the radio, microphone, and SID works very well.  The
only problem I've had is with the external antenna.

Due to the placement of the third brake light the dealer recommended using
the upper corner of the windshield on the passenger side as the attachment
for the antenna.  The reception is fine and the shop that did the install
got the wiring done very cosmetically.

Unfortunately in that position the antenna generates a whistling noise at
some speeds.  It's pretty annoying.  I called the dealer sometime after the
install to complain about the whistling and they suggested removing the mast
to verify whether the noise was coming from the antenna or a seal problem.
The noise abated significantly with the mast unscrewed and removed.  The
remaining stub produces some residual noise.

Has anyone else installed a glass mount external antenna?  Where?  What is
your experience with wind noise, if any, reception, etc..

Warranty recall service follow-up: The work specified in three service
bulletins was performed along with an oil change and tire rotation/balance.
I have not noticed any difference in vehicle operation with the exception of
a slight improvement in fuel mileage.
