Re: Aero Suspension

I've tried a quite a few different suspension combinations under my Saabs. I
have 95 Aero, a 96 CS and a heavily modified 97 CS.

It breaks down like this;

95 Aero

96 CS

97 CS

The 97 is by far the quickest handling and the undisputed champ over broken
pavement. It's also the most taut, the front air dam takes a beating and the
cat hangers break every 6 months.

The 95 is the most stable at high speeds. The stock Aero is lowered slightly
from the factory. By my measure, about 10mm in the front.

The 96 is noticably slower handling, but the most comfortable for long
trips.

The SAS roll bars were a little tricky to install, especially the rear. The
97 has broken the rear roll bar hanger, the 95 hasn't. Both cars have a
slight drumming sound above 70 mph.

The Abbott wishbone bushings are a must. The SAS roll bars destroyed the
stock bushings, both cars, in a few thousand spirited miles.

I love the Konis, even though they are kind of pricey and pretty tough to
install. Wish I could afford them all around.

The 205 50s are the best profile. The slightly lower profile gives a
slightly lower gear ratio, tightening the gearbox noticably. Not the best
for long high speed crusing. (So I'm told)

Anything else, let me know.
