Features

2002 Tech Convention

Some of the best Saab techs in the land gather to compete for a trip to the
International, and to relax at Saab's nickel.
Tech Talk:

Automatic Transmission Fluid. The 5-speed a/t in the '02 and later 9-5 and
9-3 SportSedan have a special appetite. Find out 'what' and 'why'.
More About Motor Oil: a discussion with subscriber Gerard Muller and Stephen
Goldberger. Gerard has some pretty impressive credentials. His was among
several responses the oil article in the previous issue motivated.
Model 9000 Serpentine Belt. David Prantl has developed quite a skill dealing
with 9000s. I hope this is the first of a series.

2003 Saab Owners' Convention Update
Carlisle 2003. The Carlisle Import and Kit Replicar show has developed into
a major regional gathering of Saab enthusiasts. In 2002 Saab owners won the
trophy for highest participation of any marque - beating out perennial winner
Fiero (huh? It's not imported. I guess it counts as a kit - it comes
preassembled and then you take it apart and redo it), BMW - which always puts
up a strong showing, and arch rival Volvo.
The Last Saab at Carlisle in 2002. Saab won the participation trophy by
precisely one car. Here's the story of that last Saab.
Summer Events:
New England Gathering, Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix
Mark your calendars.
