I've owned 5 'classic' 900's, 2 9000's, and currently a 98 900 and I've not
noticed this 'loose' rear steer problem...except when I installed a set of
Dunlap Touring tires with extra deep tread (to give their 80k tread life
warentee) and one winter when using a set of winter tires with extra deep
tread for traction in snow. I attributed the loose handling to tread
squirm.
As a result I like to look for new tires whoose tread blocks look like
they might support each other in cornering and that the tread is not extra
deep. I run about 32 psi tire pressure all-around. Raising the pressure
higher didn't help much in reducing the lose feeling I got with the above
tires, tho.
