I have not driven a 230hp 2001 9-5 Aero or a 250hp 2002 9-5 Aero, but I'm
pretty sure the power increase is more for appearances (marketing) than for
real-life performance. Notice that the maximum torque remains the same for
both cars.

Almost certainly, the change is confined to the Trionic (engine management
system) brain box.

No, but if you were really determined, you could probably find a 2002 9-5
Aero Trionic brain box, look over the appropriate wiring schematics to
verify that all connections are compatible, and plug it in to your Viggen.

Better still, you could look into an aftermarket Stage-One engine upgrade
package, which would not only raise that top-end hp figure, but provide some
real-life torque enhancement.

For example, speedparts.se has the following Stage-One upgrade for the
'99-'01 Viggen in their on-line catalog:

Max Horsepower: 274 (up from 230 stock), 19% increase
Max Torque: 313 lb.ft (up from 258 lb.ft stock), 21% increase
