Lynnie,

I have had the same problem with my '93 900S. The Saab trained mechanic
that I use put in a different heat range thermostat; but that didn't solve
the problem. I have just learned to live with it. Like you mentioned, the
engine does not 'overheat', it just runs what seems to be unnaturally warm.

I live in Omaha, NE and work in Lincoln, NE. This is a 50+ mile commute,
mostly at 75 mph. When August comes around and temperatures at 5:00 p.m.
are in the 90's or higher (some 100+ days this August) I expect to see the
engine temperature gauge in the high range.

I hope this puts your mind at ease.

PS: My '80 900GLE ran right at mid-point most of its life, so the '93 had
me asking a lot of questions over the last 2½ years I have owned it.
