Strange Idle Sounds

I have a 97 900 Turbo SE (NG) with about 60K miles. The car has developed
a problem in the last few months, and I though I would see if anyone can
comment on it.

While at idle, the car makes some very strange sounds. Some of them just
sounds as if the idle is running a bit to hard. Others, however, are very
worrisome -- the entire car vibrates with a loud hmm. Giving the car a bit
of gas usually removes the vibration, but the problem persists. For some
reason, the problems appears more pronounced when the car is at an angle
while ideling (i.e. waiting on a small hill).

For a while, I though the problem was the spark plugs, which had not been
changed on schedule. Changing the spark plugs a few months ago seems to
have lessened the 'rough idle' aspect, but the loud humming still persists.

There is also a pinhole leak in the exhaust system by the engine which I
could imagine being related to the turbo, but I don't see how that has
anything to do with the idle.

Thanks,

KK
