When I had those problems, changing the master cylinder was always the
solution.

A couple of possibilities I have run into master is wearing, cracked
loose or damaged feeder hose, slave is leaking air in.

Quick tests for 1, while in your driveway put light pressure on the
pedal, keep at it for some time, if it goes slowly to the floor the
master mostlikely has worn cups. I had a similar problem with a cracked
feed hose to clutch letting air in it was a little obvious though I was
dense, as the feed hose was damp with fluid, #3 was on a 9000 so can only
guess it ranslates.

You say the master is a pain to change? I did min last spting took an
hour and I am overly protective of the work I do could have been done in
15 minutes.
