Tom - I believe that up to a 10% error is considered within the norm - at
least by the Govt regulatory agencies. I have a 2002 9-3 SE automatic, that
I just bought -- that appears to be spot-on, based on a recent comparison
with an un-manned radar display unit that I ended up cruising past 10 times
at various speeds (how nice of the city of Tempe to assist me in my speedo
calibration efforts! Now that's my tax dollars at work - ha!).

If you replace your tires (which you eventually will) you might bump up a
size - from the 205-55 16's to a 215 or 225/55 16 - that will 'slow' the
speedo down 5 to 10 %.

As for the brakes - I noticed that mine did not 'bite' as strongly as my
recently sold 2001 Accord . . .almost as if the pads were glazed (which they
were not) -- plus the factory pads leave a ton of brake dust on the front
wheels in as little as 20 miles of driving. I just replaced the pads (with
18,000 miles, they still had over 50% pad life left - I bought the car with
16,500 on it, so the problem did concern me) with EBC Green pads -- I did NOT
need to turn the rotors -- and these new pads are GREAT. Brake Masters (a
chain of brake shops that seem do a nice job) installed them for $50. The
pads were ordered from
<http://www.taliaferrosaab.com/>TARGET='_blank' HREF='http://www.taliaferrosaab.com/'>http://www.taliaferrosaab.com/ -- I think

they were about $85. Turned out that Brake Masters were already familiar
with them (and could order them) from all of the BMW's & Mercedes that they
do.

These EBC Greens bite harder - especially when cold, and leave ZERO dust on
the wheels. I do not know how they would effect wet weather driving, as I
live in Arizona (!). Good luck - and let us know what you end up doing.
