The problem with 'upgrading' the performance of the V6 is that the
asymmetric turbo arragement is self limiting. There is no waste gate, but
rather the system relies on the fact that the turbine is driven by just 3
cylinders, while the compressor feeds all 6. And, at high flow rates, the
turbine actually 'chokes'. A lower restriction intake might help some, but
for truly increased performace, you would need to fabricate a new exhalust
manifold to accept a turbo to the 'rear' cylinder bank, completely revise
the intake plumbing, and re-engineer the system. Then when you are all
done, you will find that the torque limit on the A/T is some 240 ft. lb.,
not much more than the 229 you are getting now.
