Too bad that SAAB didn't bother to use all those possible interventions -
different motor mounts, different transmission, different chassis, and
access to the reams of data from GM's efforts to tame the vibrations at
Saturn and for the 2.4L DOHC Oldsmobile - to fix the problem in the N/G
900S. By '97 I would have thought that they could have smoothed out the
engine a bit. It feels like an old tractor when it's cold. The engine is
lovely at speed - smooth and powerful. But what a clunker when it's cold.
They should have done better in a $30,000 (Canadian) plus car.
